Privacy Policy

ID Library is built to collect as little as possible.
No tracking cookies from us
ID Library itself sets no cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Fonts and all page assets are served from our own domain.
Track previews (third-party players)
Track previews play through the official players of Beatport, and where Beatport has no preview, SoundCloud, Spotify or YouTube (via youtube-nocookie.com). No third-party player loads when you open the page. A player loads only when you press ▶ on a track, and it is removed when you close it or play another track. We do not host any audio.
Once loaded, a player is run by that company, not by us. It connects to their servers and may set its own cookies or similar storage and collect data under its own privacy policy: Beatport, SoundCloud, Spotify and Google/YouTube. If you don't want that, don't press play; the "Listen on …" links open the provider's own site instead.
Search and Apple Music results
Searching ID Library runs in your browser against the data already on the page. If a search has no or only a few matches on ID Library (and is at least 3 characters long), the text you typed is sent to Apple's iTunes Search API (itunes.apple.com) to look up matching songs, after you pause typing. Apple receives the search text and, as with any web request, technical data such as your IP address and browser details. The lookup itself is sent without cookies or a referrer, and we don't store your searches. Song artwork then loads from Apple's servers (mzstatic.com), and if you press "▶ Preview" a 30-second preview streams from Apple (audio-ssl.itunes.apple.com). Nothing from Apple loads until you search. Apple handles this data under its own privacy policy. Song previews are provided courtesy of iTunes.
Newsletter and clip submissions: not live yet
The newsletter signup ("The Friday Index") and "Submit a clip" features are demos and are not live. Anything typed into them stays in your browser: it is not sent, stored or shared. If we launch these features, we will update this policy before collecting any data and will explain what we collect and why.
Server and hosting logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
